cancan is a Canadian shopping platform in development, based in Ontario, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and handle personal information through cancan.ca during our pre-launch period.
When you interact with cancan.ca, you may choose to provide us with personal information.
If you join the cancan early-access list, we collect your first name and email address. We also record your consent to receive early-access news and updates, along with information associated with that consent, such as the date and source of your submission.
If you submit information about a Canadian business or brand, we may collect the business or brand name, your name, email address, website and the information you choose to provide through the form.
We do not currently use advertising pixels or analytics tools on the pre-launch website.
We use the information we collect to:
• manage the cancan early-access list;
• send early-access news and updates to people who have agreed to receive them;
• review businesses and brands interested in cancan;
• respond to inquiries and communicate with prospective participants;
• operate, maintain and protect the pre-launch website; and
• meet applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Submitting a business or brand through cancan.ca does not guarantee inclusion on cancan.
We only send cancan early-access news and updates to people who have agreed to receive them.
Withdrawing consent does not affect information we may need to retain for legitimate administrative, legal or compliance purposes.
We may use third-party service providers to operate cancan and process information on our behalf. For example, information submitted through our forms may be processed or stored using our website and database service providers.
These providers may process information outside your province or outside Canada. Where that occurs, information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is processed.
We do not sell your personal information.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, administrative and consent-recordkeeping purposes.
If information is no longer required, we may delete or anonymize it as appropriate.
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect the personal information in our care. However, no method of transmitting or storing information electronically can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You may contact us to ask about personal information we hold about you or to request access to or correction of your personal information.
You may also withdraw consent where our use of your information is based on consent, subject to applicable legal or administrative requirements.
We may update this Privacy Policy as cancan develops, including when new features, services or technologies are introduced.
When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
